Maharashtra CAP counselling

All government and private engineering seats in Maharashtra are allocated through Centralised Admission Process (CAP) rounds based on MHT-CET percentile.

Two papers — PCM group

Paper 1: Physics & Chemistry (90 min, 100 marks). Paper 2: Mathematics (90 min, 100 marks). No negative marking on numerical questions.

Class 11 + 12 Maharashtra board syllabus

80% weightage from Class 12 and 20% from Class 11 Maharashtra State Board syllabus. High overlap with JEE Main NCERT prep.

Who can appear for MHT-CET 2026?

  • Indian national with Maharashtra domicile (or eligible category)
  • Passed/appearing Class 12 with PCM for engineering
  • Minimum 45% aggregate in PCM (40% for reserved categories)
  • APAAR ID and Aadhaar mandatory for 2026 registration
