Only pathway to 23 IITs

JEE Advanced is mandatory for all IIT B.Tech seats. Approximately 1.6 lakh of the top 2.5 lakh JEE Main rankers register each year.

Two papers, one day

Paper 1 and Paper 2 are conducted on the same day with a break. Both test Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with varying weightage and question types.

Partial marking & multi-correct MCQs

Unlike JEE Main, Advanced uses partial marking, numerical answers, match-the-following, and multi-correct questions requiring deeper conceptual integration.

Who can appear for JEE Advanced 2026?

  • Among top 2,50,000 JEE Main rankers (all categories combined)
  • Born on or after October 1, 2001 (for 2026)
  • Maximum 2 attempts in consecutive years
  • Minimum 75% in Class 12 or top 20 percentile (relaxed for SC/ST)
